Biography
I grew up on Tumwater Hill and in the Black Lake area - a proud attendee of Tumwater schools from K-12. I graduated from Tumwater High School and attended the University of Puget Sound and Central Washington University. I graduated from CWU in 1994 with honors, and then spent the next 21 years at Tenino Elementary teaching 4th grade, working with many gifted colleagues and wonderfully supportive families.
I am now lucky enough to be back "home" at Michael T., the school I attended when I was an elementary student! I have many fond memories of my caring teachers, and really cherished the time I spent in the big, old, brick building on Linwood Avenue. My past teachers and experiences at MTS were monumental influences on my decision to become an educator, so I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to be back here, coming full circle. This is my 30th year in fourth grade. Crazy how time flies!
Fun Fact: Three generations of our family have been Michael T. students....and a fourth little one "on-the-way"!
